I am pleased to announce the debut performance of my current musical project - Winthorpe!
We will be performing a week from today, 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 12th, at Arlene's Grocery. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
Winthorpe is a trio and I will be singing and playing guitar. I have written most of the songs, some of which are fan favorites of the Kemp songbook including Working for Gruber, Evil, See No Evil, and others that haven't been played for the public since the demise of Chewy Blue.
Joe Mrnarevic will be playing drums. We have been playing music together since 2006 when we formed Chewy Blue, and we recorded the Electric Bretheren EP together, which you can listen to or download for FREE here: http://electricbretheren.bandcamp.com/. We will be performing I Been Up and See No Evil from this record on the 12th.
We have added Brian DiFeo to our lineup on bass, and he will be singing a few of his songs as well. Brian is a great bass player and a bit of a celebrity on Instagram as Bridif. All three of us share a common love for The Band, Traffic, Neil Young, The Police, and the Grateful Dead, and we have infused our influences into a really original sound that seems to come naturally to us when we play.
We have been rehearsing regularly since March, so it is with great pleasure and excitement that we will be performing for the public. Spread the word, and hope to see you there.
Best,
Jonathan
